About Guide me to UK

Guide me to UK is an independent website about destinations and accommodation in the United Kingdom. The guides describe what a place is like, how people get there, and which kind of room usually fits. They are written so you can choose a base before you spend money with a hotel or a cottage agency.

We do not own hotels, run a booking desk, or take reservation payments. If a page mentions an inn, a beach or a museum, that organisation is separate from us. Their prices, menus and opening hours are theirs to change.

What we cover

The current guides are listed on the destinations page. They include the Dorset and Devon coasts, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Blackpool and Southport, Edinburgh and a wider note on Scotland, plus a few inland towns that are useful bases rather than resorts. A separate page explains how to choose a quieter stay without pretending to rank hotels.

We would rather keep a short list of specific guides than a directory of empty town names. If a destination is on the site, it has its own page with transport and accommodation notes.

Advertising

The site may show advertising, including ads from Google, to help pay for hosting. An advertisement is not our recommendation, and it is not a guest house we have inspected. How cookies and ad partners work is explained in the privacy policy, including how to refuse non-essential cookies.

Corrections

If a guide has gone out of date, tell us. The useful message includes the page address and what has changed, for example a ferry that no longer runs or a museum that has moved. Use the contact page. The terms for using the site are on the terms of use page.

Guide me to UK is an independent information site. We do not own hotels or take bookings. Fares, opening hours and timetables change, so confirm them before you travel. Reviewed October 2026.
